The Cory McDaniel Duo, Wyoming's Only Three Piece Duo - Saturday, October 11th - 12pm-3pm
Raised in Casper, Wyoming, where his tractor-wrangler mom and tombstone-carving dad shaped his early years, Cory’s playground was the eerie charm of a cemetery next door, complete with a giant ceremonial cannon as his jungle gym. This unconventional upbringing sparked a lifelong passion for the blues and the beautifully strange, leading him to form the Eddies, a high school band with no actual Eddies, which rocked Wyoming and Colorado clubs using fake IDs (Cory’s was Rex Thorpe). After migrating to the West Coast, Cory teamed up with Wyoming native "Earthquake" Anderson to create the near-legendary Seattle bands Butterfat and Earthquake and the Tremors, leaving behind tales of drinking Janis Joplin’s tequila backstage and trading a ruby earring for an ear piercing from Walt Disney’s granddaughter. On Saturday, October 11th from 12-3 PM, Cory and his band bring their soulful, blues-infused sound and wild stories to The Hawthorn Tree for an unforgettable afternoon performance.
